L’Oréal has announced its six month 2021 results that showed net sales were €15.2 billion.
Gross profit for the sixth month period was €11.3 billion. Net profit was €2.37 billion.
Operating profit was €2.9 billion.
Operating Profit by Division
The professional products division reported €140 million in operating profit; the consumer products division reported €1.24 billion; L’Oréal Luxe reported €892 million; and the active cosmetics division reported €433 million.
Hair care remains the number one category for growth in the professional products division.
The consumer products division achieved record market share in makeup, especially in North America and Europe, as a result of the successful launches of Sky High Mascara by Maybelline New York, Infallible powder by L’Oréal Paris and Shine Loud lipstick by NYX Professional Makeup.
L’Oréal Luxe gained market share in all three of its categories: skin care, fragrance and makeup.
In the active cosmetics division CeraVe doubled in size, while La Roche-Posay continued to accelerate.
The skin care segment reported sales at €6.3 billion. Makeup reported sales at €3.1 billion; hair care is €2.3 billion; and perfumes reported sales at €1.3 billion.
