Beauty Düsseldorf 2017 to Honor Two Beauty Industry Professionals

As Beauty Düsseldorf 2017 quickly approaches, makeup artist Laila Hamidi and Professor Michael Schmidt have been announced the winners of this year’s Golden Mask for Makeup Art Award and the Life of Beauty Award, respectively.

Beauty Düsseldorf 2017 will be held on Friday, March 31 through Sunday, April 2 from 9am to 6pm each day.

Laila Hamidi

Known for her work as a makeup artist specializing in styling for celebrity performances including film recording and photo shoots, Hamidi will be honored with the Golden Mask for Makeup Art Award for her “special creativity, technical expertise and outstanding dedication to the profession of makeup artists.”

She also won the Dior Makeup Artist of the Year in 2010.

The award ceremony is to be held at the meeting point in Hall 10 at Beauty Düsseldorf on Saturday, April 1 at 3:30pm.

Professor Michael Schmidt

 

Biochemist and skin physiologist, Michael Schmidt, has earned this year’s Life of Beauty Award for his “special merits in professional cosmetics and for being a driving force in the industry.” Schmidt is known for his numerous professional articles as well as his duties of technical director and academic advisor of the Beauty Düsseldorf Trend Forum for over 10 years. Schmidt has gained a PhD and professorship while researching the functions of the skin barrier, skin and immune systems, forms of skin cancer and how free radicals affect the health theory of salutogenesis.

With the help of his wife, Antje, Schmidt developed three cosmetic brands: Missing Link, marineau and Namaskar that strive to produce integrated, holistic and scientifically substantiated cosmetics.

The award ceremony is to be held at the meeting point in Hall 10 at Beauty Düsseldorf on Friday, March 31 at 4:15pm.
