[Update] Garnier Launches Eco-Friendly Shampoo Bars

L'Oreal's Garnier has launched its Ultimate Blends Shampoo Bar, its first solid shampoo bar, at Boots stores across the United Kingdom, per British Plastics and Rubber Magazine.

The shampoo bars contain zero plastic waste, are packaged in 100% recyclable cardboard and contain 94% plant-based ingredients. Compared to a conventional shampoo bottle, the bars have 80% less packaging and use 70% less fossil energy for transportation. 

The bars are available in four blends, Revitalizing Ginger, Strengthening Honey, Hydrating Coconut and Softening Oat Milk. They are set to roll out in other United Kingdom retail stores in 2021.

Update: The shampoo bars will launch in the United States in July 2021.

Ingredients (Revitalizing Ginger): Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Sodium Coco-Sulfate, Water (Aqua), Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate, Glycerin, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Fragrance (Parfum), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Zingiber Officinale Root Extract (Ginger Root Extract), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil (Sweet Almond Oil), Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Eugenol, Coumarin, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol (F.I.L. C258418/1).
