An increase in consumers’ focus on sustainability surrounding product packaging has led Gerresheimer to expand its range of green packaging. The company has manufactured packaging made entirely from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET), stackable bottles and the BioPack, which is made from biomaterials (BIO-PET). Packaging made from PET is lightweight, shatterproof, easily molded and functional.
Stackable bottles: A new, refillable and transparent plastic bottle that is made to be stacked, which saves space and reduces CO2 emissions per shipment, according to the company.
BioPack: BIO-PET containers that are made with renewable biomaterials like sugarcane. Ethanol is extracted from the sugarcane and converted into PET.
Gerresheimer is also set to showcase its sustainable packaging at a booth on January 29 and 30 at the 2020 PCD Congress in Paris.
