From 2:00-3:30 p.m. CET on December 10, Provital Group CEO Ricard Armengol will present a webinar on three experiences of private sector companies from the cosmetics, food and fragrance industries. The experiences use genetic resources under the national Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) regulations.
Armengol will present Provital Group’s efforts in accessing genetic resources from Mexico for the development of a cosmetic product. In order the genetic resources and traditional knowledge of local communities, the efforts should guarantee traceability and equitable sharing of benefits. Through this project, Provital has become the first global cosmetic ingredients supplier to fulfill Nagoya Protocol requirements.
A Symrise representative will also present the implications, challenges and opportunities of the national implementation of the Nagoya Protocol in the flavor and fragrance industry, and a Cosmo International Ingredients representative will present the Columbian case on the use of the Uchuva fruit to develop a cosmetic product.
