L’Oréal Groupe has opened its North America Research & Innovation (R&I) Center in Clark, New Jersey, following a $160 million investment. This 250,000-square-foot facility is L’Oréal’s largest R&I center outside France, designed to advance innovation, sustainability, and economic growth.

Key Features of the Facility:

  • Global Collaboration- Part of L’Oréal’s international R&I network, the center supports over 600 scientists, engineers, and researchers to develop new ingredients and sustainable formulations.
  • Inclusivity- Focus on personalized solutions for diverse skin tones, hair textures, and beauty preferences.
  • Modular Laboratories- A 26,000-square-foot adaptive lab enables agile responses to market trends.
  • Consumer Testing- On-site facilities host up to 400 daily visitors for product testing and feedback.
  • Mini-Factory- Enables efficient scaling of products before mass production.
  • Sustainability- Equipped with 10,000 solar panels supplying 70% of energy needs, storm water management systems, and eco-friendly initiatives.

The center also aims to strengthen L’Oréal’s U.S. portfolio, including brands like Maybelline, Redken, CeraVe, and Kiehl’s, while creating local economic opportunities.
