Traditional hair styling products often involve scooping from jars or squeezing from tubes, resulting in sticky hands, inconsistent portions and potential contamination from repeated use. Pom Drops' recent debut aims to address these issues with a novel single-use pellet format.

Singe-dosed Pellets

According to the company, each Pom Drops pellet contains a pre-measured amount of hair styling clay designed to provide a firm hold and matte finish — without making hair feel heavy or stiff. Users crush a pellet in their hands and apply it, eliminating the need for dipping into jars and reducing the risk of overuse or waste.

"[It's] the world’s first patent-pending, individually portioned hair-styling clay," the company website states.

Microbial Control

This delivery format also reportedly helps to mitigate hygiene concerns. Repeated contact with traditional jar-based products can introduce bacteria, which has been associated with scalp irritation and other issues. By offering a no-contact system, Pom Drops is designed to preserve product integrity between uses.

Natural and Compact Format

The formulation is heat activated and includes natural ingredients such as mango butter and beeswax. Additional ingredients featured include:

  • Rosemary oil
  • Vitamin E oil
  • Castor oil
  • Cedarwood oil
  • Clove bud oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Kaolin clay and
  • Bentonite clay.

According to the company, these ingredients work harmoniously to nourish, protect and enhance hair’s texture. The pellets are packaged in a compact, spill-resistant container designed for convenience and portability, the company adds.

Pom Drops are available at pomdrops.com and retail for US $39.95 for a 2.3 oz jar.
