The Startup Collective by Aveeno is awarding $150,000 to two Black business owners who address unique skin care needs.
Kristen Dunning, founder of Gently Soap is the $100,000 grant winner. The brand addresses sensitive skin with soaps formulated without irritating ingredients and is distributed via Amazon and Thirteen Lune.
Meanwhile, Kimba Williams, founder of Kushae, has been announced as the $50,00 runner up grant winner. The honor is in recognition of the brand's intimate care/hygiene innovations. The brand was founded in 2018 and features natural and plant-based ingredients.
Grant recipients will gain access to hands-on business guidance and mentorship from Aveeno leaders across various fields such as package design, marketing and accounting, per Aveeno.
The winners were first announced on October 7, 2023, on the Creator Stage at Culture Con NYC.
