Subscription services, Scentbird and ipsy, have started moving away from the traditional sampling model and will soon offer full-sized products in their monthly boxes.

According to a recent article on www.glossy.com, Scentbird has introduced its first-ever Makeup Pilot Program. The program reportedly offers full-sized makeup products—brands include Kat Von D, Tarte, Ardency Inn and trèStiQue—into its existing subscription service. According to the article, within 24 hours, Scentbird was sold out of certain products like the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper Black.

Scentbird plans to add more products to the mix, however, the existing Pilot Program will only be available as long as the products are.

Additionally, ipsy Glambag Plus will launch later this year, according to www.subscriptionaddiction.com. While the price has not yet been disclosed (traditional pricing is $10 each month), the Glambag will feature 5 full-sized items—Sunday Riley CEO, Morphe 15H Happy Hour Eyeshadow Palette, Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush, Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream, Buxom Lash Mascara and a makeup bag.

It's no secret that the subscription beauty box market is saturated. The movement away from sample-sized products may be seen as a way to differentiate between brands and offer consumers more bang for their buck.
