Spate has released its "UK Trends Report 2021," a search engine data report that explores trends in the skin care, makeup and services industries in the United States and United Kingdom.

The report indicated a renewed interest and relevancy in beauty products as the world returns to normalcy from COVID-19.

Botox, liposuction and gua sha dominate the top three rising services in both markets.

Botox received 930,210 searches in the United States—a 23.9% increase. In the United Kingdom, it received 324,030 searches—a 29.5% increase.

Many long-lasting treatments and procedures like lip fillers are surpassing more temporary services like hybrid lash extensions in the United Kingdom. The United States is more focused on makeup services than the United Kingdom.

However, the interest in skin care services is similar in both countries.

Acne-related concerns are the top trending skin concerns in both markets, as well.

U.K. and U.S. consumers are turning to ingredients like retinol, niacinamide, and vitamin C for their skin care concerns.

Vitamin C serum is consistently popular in both markets, with a 24.6% increase in the United States and 41% in the United Kingdom.

Digitally native and digitally enhanced trends, especially those that are popular on TikTok, lead top rising makeup looks.

Like the rise in lipstick products, growing interest in funky shades and textures in the United States reveal a renewed excitement for being out and about.

The growing interest in white and two-tone lip makeup shows an element of experimentation in the United Kingdom. Alt makeup is one of many makeup trends taking off this year.

The common thread among all rising makeup trends is creativity and experimentation.
