Addressing a Widespread Need
This launch marks CeraVe's commitment to providing holistic and effective care that goes beyond the face. Recognizing that a healthy scalp is crucial for healthy hair, CeraVe addresses the needs of the 20% of Americans who suffer from dandruff, according to a dandruff study from L'Oréal. CeraVe Anti-Dandruff is designed to target the root cause of dandruff, while remaining gentle on sensitive scalps.
The CeraVe Anti-Dandruff system formula features 1% pyrithione zinc to help eliminate flakes and includes the brand's three signature ceramides. The formula is designed to help restore the scalp barrier and alleviate symptoms of mild to moderate dandruff, while keeping hair feeling soft and manageable.
Catering to All Hair Types
Both the Anti-Dandruff and Gentle Hydrating lines are suitable for all hair types, curl patterns and color-treated hair.
Developed in collaboration with dermatologists, CeraVe hair care leverages L'Oréal's “rigorous” testing on diverse scalps, per the brand.
Tom Allison, senior vice president and global head of professional sales and marketing, CeraVe, says, "As we looked ahead to the future of CeraVe, we felt that hair and scalp care were a natural progression for the brand. Working hand-in-hand with our dermatologists, we were able to create anti-dandruff formulas with skin-identical ceramides that are not only effective for gently and effectively cleansing and treating dandruff without disrupting the scalp barrier, but also leaves hair feeling healthy and soft."
Dermatologist Doris Day, MD, FAAD, adds, "Having worked closely with the CeraVe hair care team from the very start, I have seen the exceptional efficacy and results this line delivers. Our top priority was to thoughtfully create products that are both effective and gentle, ensuring they are suitable for everyone. I'm incredibly proud to recommend this range to my patients, knowing it meets their diverse needs with care and precision."
