Beiersdorf Inc. announced the following promotions and key appointments to its management team in North America:
- Iain Holding, currently president of Beiersdorf, North America, has been promoted to the global role of corporate vice president, global sales strategy. The position is based at the company’s global headquarters in Hamburg.
- Robert Taylor-Hughes, currently managing director of Beiersdorf, Middle East, North Africa and West Asia will succeed Holding as president, Beiersdorf North America.
- Magnus Jonsson, currently director of marketing for Nivea for Men and consumer intelligence has been promoted to vice president of marketing, Beiersdorf Inc., which includes oversight of the Nivea, Nivea for Men, Nivea Lip Care, Nivea Body Wash, Eucerin and Aquaphor brands. He replaces Nicolas Maurer who was recently promoted to corporate vice president, global skin care.
All of these announcements will be effective in October.
Iain Holding has been part of Beiersdorf for more than 20 years. He has worked for affiliates in Germany, Belgium, Canada and the Netherlands before taking charge of Beiersdorf’s North American operations in 2006. Since then, he has led the redesign of the North American affiliate’s business strategy and a refocusing on the group’s core business and the development of the Nivea , Eucerin and Aquaphor brands, which has resulted in solid double-digit growth during the past four years, making Beiersdorf the growth leader in the categories in which the company is active.
Robert Taylor-Hughes has worked in various marketing and management positions within the consumer packaged goods industry for the past 20 years. He joined Beiersdorf in 2001, as marketing director of business development Cosmed. Most recently, leading the company’s affiliate in the Middle East, he has been responsible for steering the Beiersdorf brands across 17 multinational countries within the region and increasing the companies No.1/No. 2 market share positions from 23 to 43 during the past seven years.
Magnus Jonsson joined Beiersdorf US in 2004. He has held several positions within the Nivea brand group of increasing responsibility: product manager, Nivea Visage; marketing manager, Nivea Body; marketing director, Nivea; and most recently, since November 2009, the newly created position of marketing director, Nivea for Men and consumer intelligence. During his time at Beiersdorf, Jonsson has played an influential role in the development of the U.S. brand strategy for Nivea and, in turn, made a significant contribution to the brand’s successful development in the U.S., according to the company's release. Jonsson is credited with the successful launches of Nivea Body Wash and Nivea Lip Care in the U.S. and, in his latest role, for finding new ways to significantly develop the male grooming offering and re-ignite growth in related categories. His successor will be named at a later date.
