Sally Beauty has announced its fourth quarter 2021 net sales increased 3.4%, from $957.81 million to $990.26 million. Full-year results showed net sales increased 10.3% from $3.51 billion to $3.87 billion.

Q4

Gross profit for Q4 was $500.97 million, compared to $489.14 million in the previous year.

Net earnings were $68.15 million, compared to $70.18 million in the previous year.

Full-year

Gross profit for full-year 2021 was $1.95 billion, compared to $1.71 billion in the previous year.

Net earnings were $239.85 million, compared to $113.24 million in the previous year.

2022 Outlook

Net sales are expected to increase 3-4% in 2022, versus the previous year.

Denise Paulonis, president and CEO, said: "We are pleased to conclude the year with strong fourth quarter performance, highlighted by net sales growth of 3.4%, adjusted operating margin of 11.7% and operating cash flow of $164 million. In fiscal 2021, we successfully executed on our stated priorities to substantially complete the remaining elements of our transformation and leverage our new capabilities and tools in service of our mission to recruit and retain color customers. We rebounded strongly from last year’s pandemic challenges, delivering net sales growth of 10.3% while generating strong profitability and cash flow and reducing our debt levels by over $400 million in fiscal 2021.”
