The Black Executive CMO Alliance (BECA), a group creating opportunity, access and equality for Black marketers, has launched.
BECA's four main pillars include Share, Learn, Elevate and Pay it Forward. The group aims to maintain a trusted, safe space where Black leaders can come together to share experiences, serve as beacons to help learn and ensure visibility and recognition of members.
Members are distinguished C-Suite executives with various titles in various sectors from companies such as Unilever, Mars Wrigley, Adidas and Netflix. All members have or had marketing at the core of their experiences.
BECA plans to bring more Black marketing professionals in through mentorship, internship, scholarship and sponsorship.
Jerri DeVard, founder, said: “I created this alliance because it did not exist and was so desperately needed. To achieve meaningful corporate diversity, we need less rhetoric and more allies, action and accountability.”
