Credo Beauty's new private label line, Credo Skincare, merges a number of key beauty trends simultaneously, pushing the limits on sustainable and clean products while delivering clinically backed results consumers expect in an era increasingly dominated by the influence of dermocosmetics.
Credo Skincare's Range: Cleansing x Moisturizing
The collection centers on shoppers' hydration concerns via clean and sustainable formulations.
The retailer leveraged 10 years of customer feedback to build its range, as well as relevant ingredient data and search term trends.
The result: "results-driven formulas packed with clinically proven actives and sustainably- minded packaging," per the retailer.
SKUs are arranged around a two-step process: cleansing, followed by moisturizing.
- The moisturizing Deep Thirst Hydrating Cleanser ($44)
- The soothing True Timeout Calming Cleanser ($44) for sensitive skin
- The "intense" Deep Thirst Hydrating Moisturizer ($64)
- The True Timeout Calming Moisturizer ($64), designed to "alleviate sensitivity and redness"
- The Radiance Rising Brightening Moisturizer ($64) for dull skin
- The Rewinder Anti-Aging Moisturizer ($64) to address "the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines"
"Clinicals have proven 27% improvement in hydration after 24 hours," per Credo, "31% improvement in hydration instantly and an improvement in the skin barrier function instantly and after 24 hours."
Credo's Hero Ingredient Focus: Vetiver
The range features upcycled vetiver root extract, "ethically harvested by a local cooperative in Haiti," offering antioxidant benefits that boost the skin tone and nourish the complexion.
Additional benefits include improved skin texture and a reduced appearance of pores and wrinkles.
Other key materials in the range include peptides, bakuchiol (a common retinol alternative), postbiotic ferments, vitamin C, chicory root inulin, soothing truffle root extract and more.
Credo Debuts PCR Resin in New Range
Credo, famous for its sustainable packaging initiatives, has debuted a new PCR resin, NewMatter, in the packaging for the new skin care range.
The material, featuring beauty waste packaging collected via Credo Beauty's Pact Collective partnership, is used for every pump and cap in the Credo Skincare collection.
"The first run of NewMatter pumps eliminated the need for 500 kg of virgin plastic (500 kg of recycled plastic used is equivalent to 11 cubic meters of landfill space or ~2,900 gallons of space!)," per Credo Beauty.
For every 38 pumps produced, 1 lb of material is diverted from ending up in a landfill or ocean, Credo claims.
A Decade of Consumer Listening
“The benefit of listening to 10 years of customers' desires and skin concerns compelled us to create this line," says Credo co-founder and CEO Annie Jackson. "Years of data drove the ingredient compositions of these products so that we could exceed our customers’ expectations for efficacy. Our Credo Clean Standard is already rigorous and difficult to attain but we wanted to challenge ourselves with how our own brand could take clean innovation to new heights from full disclosure of fragrance ingredients and packaging innovation to exceeding the minimum requirements to check certain boxes, Credo Skincare raises the bar on what is possible and what can become the future baseline."
