Givaudan Active Beauty has announced the launch of VectorHyal, a skin delivery platform designed to resolve the industry’s ongoing tension between high-performance active concentration and formulation aesthetics. Developed through a strategic partnership with Brazilian encapsulation specialist Nanovetores, this technology represents a significant leap in how sensitive molecules are stabilized and transported into the dermis.
Unlike traditional encapsulation methods that can cloud a formula, VectorHyal utilizes a hyaluronic acid (HA)-based biopolymer chassis. This engineering choice allows for several high-value technical benefits:
- Targeted Enzyme Trigger: Encapsulated molecules are released precisely upon contact with skin enzymes, ensuring sustained activity rather than an immediate, unstable burst.
- Amphiphilic Compatibility: The flexible matrix accommodates both hydrophilic and lipophilic ingredients, offering a "one-stop" solution for diverse active palettes.
- Aesthetic Transparency: The biopolymeric structure supports the creation of completely transparent formulas, a critical requirement for premium serums and high-clarity gels.
For marketing teams, VectorHyal leverages a hero molecule already favored by 88% of global consumers. By positioning HA not just as a humectant but as a high-precision vehicle, brands can claim deeper penetration and superior stability for sensitive actives that are typically prone to oxidation or external disruptors.
Dmitri Colesnic, head of delivery systems at Givaudan, framed the launch as an empowerment tool for brands looking to "push the boundaries of formulation science" through a single, versatile system.
