Amid a K-beauty boom, Olive Young is accelerating its U.S. expansion with two strategic moves aimed at building long-term infrastructure and localized leadership. The company has appointed Gaeun Kwon as its first U.S. CEO while simultaneously establishing its first North American logistics center in Bloomington, California.
Kwon’s appointment reflects an effort to embed on-the-ground leadership as Olive Young works to translate its Korea-proven retail model for American consumers. Known for shaping beauty discovery in South Korea, the retailer is positioning itself as a platform that merges high-velocity K-beauty innovation with curated, education-driven merchandising.
The strategy centers on building an ecosystem that integrates emerging Korean brands with global players, supported by omnichannel touchpoints spanning both physical retail and e-commerce.
The Bloomington logistics hub is designed to streamline distribution for both international and U.S.-based brands within Olive Young’s network. By strengthening supply chain capabilities, the company aims to improve speed to shelf, operational reliability and overall service levels—key factors as competition intensifies around K-beauty’s rapid product cycles and growing U.S. demand.
