Givaudan Boosts Active Beauty with Latest Acquisition

Givaudan has acquired the cosmetics business of AMSilk, in a move to strengthen the capabilities of its active beauty business.

AMSilk GmbH is an industrial supplier of vegan silk biopolymers based out of Munich. Its range of vegan biopolymers offer a variety of applications across categories including hair care and skin care, offering benefits such as silk touch, anti-pollution and color protection. To date, the company has filed 10 patents for the use of biopolymers in cosmetics applications.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed; Givaudan plans on funding the transaction through existing resources.
