A recent study conducted by Tangle Teezer revealed that as a result of the pandemic, the "new normal" has caused most women to make changes to their daily routines, such as ditching makeup and attempting DIY hair cuts.

The survey sampled 2,000 Americans that showed the following data:

  • 58% of women have given up on makeup
  • 60% of women said they are uncomfortable with the idea of going to a hair salon
  • 19% of women are refusing to go to a salon before a vaccine is distributed
  • 56% of women attempted a DIY hair cut or hair coloring and 18% reported the attempt was not successful
  • 20% of women are wearing head scarves and bandanas more in lockdown
  • 38% of women said their hair has been in a ponytail or bun since lockdown began
  • 35% of women said they used heated styling tools less frequently
  • 19% of women are washing their hair less
