Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2016 Reveals What's Growing in Beauty

The 49th edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide in Bologna featured 250,000 visitors and 2,510 exhibitors from 150 countries, providing a massive forum for cosmetic innovation and a strong barometer for the direction the industry is taking.

Of note, the event's niche company exhibition increased my more than 39%. The green sector expanded by 22.15%, while hair and furniture grew 8.20%. Nails rose by 4%.

The event also provided Italy's strong cosmetics industry with an opportunity to display its capabilities. According to Fabio Rossello, president of Cosmetica Italia, "The national cosmetics sector, with over 10 billion euro turnover (+ 6.5% in 2015), is able to convey the values of Made in Italy with a winning mix of creativity, innovation and constant attention to the needs of a sophisticated consumers."

The Italian cosmetics sector has reportedly grown exports by 14.3% and established a trade balance of more than 2 billion euros.

Cosmopack, which is focused on the beauty supply chain, expanded by more than 5% and was attended by 21,900 visitors. The event also coincided with the NUCE - Health World Expo, which was dedicated to nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, functional foods and beverages.

"The real novelty of Cosmoprof is that it is a trade show that is continuously growing," said Duccio Campagnoli, president of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. "This year Bologna lived extraordinary days: without presumption but with pride and satisfaction we can say that Cosmoprof is the largest Italian trade fair in the world and the most important platform for the cosmetics industry, both in Italy and in the world, with editions in Las Vegas and Hong Kong."

The next event will take place March 16-20, 2017 in Bologna.
