Unilever Ventures and the family office of Harvey Norman founder Gerry Harvey have invested $4 million in seed funding in prebiotic scalp brand Straand, per a new report. T his follows a January 2023 investment of $2 million in the brand by Unilever Ventures.

The brand, launched in 2022, is reportedly expanding into Sephora in the United Kingdom, Southeast Asia and Australia in in 2024.

It has also "soft launched" in the United States at Amazon, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, per the report.

New global product launches are expected in 2024.

As Circana reported earlier this year, prestige hair care demand in the U.S. market has remained elevated, led by double-digit growth in most care and styling segments.
