Avon announced that its board of directors has nominated Gary M. Rodkin for inclusion on the board. Rodkin will stand for election at the company's annual meeting of shareholders on May 3, 2007. If elected, Rodkin will replace Stanley C. Gault, who will be retiring from Avon's board on May 3 after 22 years of service.
"We are very pleased that Gary Rodkin has agreed to become a member of Avon's board of directors," said Andrea Jung, chairman and CEO, Avon. "His extensive brand-building experience at prominent consumer companies as well as his broad operating experience will serve Avon well as we continue to build our brand on a global scale. At the same time, we congratulate Stanley Gault on his retirement from our board, and we thank him for his 22 years of dedicated service to our company. Stan has made many contributions during his tenure, and has been instrumental in helping to guide Avon as the company has evolved and grown into an almost $9 billion international corporation."
