SOPO Dispenser was granted a utility patent and the corporation will begin marketing the patented dispenser SOPO–an acronym for Stick on Pull Off–in March, 2020.
Consumer data: Sustainable Packaging Attitudes
The dispensers are intended to declutter countertops and eliminate the need for squeezing, twisting, shaking and needing two hands to get the products from its packaging. Once attached, the product is hands-free, a benefit for individuals with dexterity issues.
Its spout, a one-way silicone valve, keeps the product inside until pressure is applied and because its gravity fed the final 10% of the product won’t be wasted by being trapped at the bottom of the bottle. The recyclable dispenser also contains about 70% less plastic than plastic bottles.
SOPO products, initially being launched as a shampoo and conditioner, are formulated by Spa de Soleil and are being made as natural as possible. The brand will then work to add body wash, moisturizer and a children's line.
The e-commerce launch is being executed by Harvest Growth and will rely on social media followed by infomercials. SOPO can also lend to other applications, like in garages, hospitals, business and institutions. The company is also exploring the possibility of a hotel line of one-ounce minis.
“Our mission statement reflects our company's values: ‘SOPO is committed to providing the safest and most natural personal care products delivered in SOPO’s innovative, patented and eco-friendly packaging. We are dedicated to the preservation of our planet. Better for you. Better for Earth.’” Edward Goldfarb, SOPO's president and inventor, said. “Sopo the Frog, a red-eyed green tree frog, will be our ambassador and reinforce the need to do more to save our Earth. Like our frog, our dispensers stick on any surface and pull off without damaging the surface.”
Goldfarb, a veteran and Navy fighter pilot, added, “SOPOs are made in America, creating more jobs. We will support organizations that help prevent the suicides of 22 veterans every day. We will actively support organizations dedicated to environmental preservation and protection.”
