Bath & Body Works Q1 Fiscal 2023 Beats Expectations

Bath & Body Works, Inc. Q1 2023 net sales totaled $1.396 billion (ended April 29, 2023), a decrease of 4% compared to net sales of $1.450 billion for the first quarter ended April 30, 2022. This was a better-than-expected result, per the company.

Notably, cash and cash equivalents shot up from $651 million in Q1 2022 to $1,046 million in Q1 fiscal 2023. 

Its operating income was $181 million compared to $280 million last year, and net income was $81 million compared to $155 million last year.

For fiscal 2023, the company expects to achieve flat net sales to a mid-single digit decline.
