It's been a busy week in beauty executive news, with big changes at Kjaer Weis, KenvueNécessaire and Wella.

First up, Kirsten Kjaer Weis announced in an Instagram post that she would depart her namesake brand.

"My heart is filled with gratitude to everybody who has supported the brand and myself over the many years since launching in 2010. Kjaer Weis has been my life’s work and my joy, so far. I am proud of the change it has made in a beauty landscape that desperately needed a non toxic, uncompromising alternative, rooted in authentic Beauty and in Love. THANK YOU to all the incredible people who made this an experience of a lifetime. Kirsten ♥️"

Meanwhile, Nécessaire has appointed Chitra Balireddi (formerly of Glossier and Chanel) as its new CEO, working alongside founder Randi Christiansen, who is continuing her board and founder role with a focus on brand, product and impact.

“At Necessaire we are committed to building a sustainable brand and business," said  Christiansen. "I am beyond humbled that Chitra has joined us as CEO. Chitra is strategic, understands the beauty consumer, and is incredibly adept at scaling brands the right way. I am extremely excited about our journey ahead."

“Randi has built a beautiful design-forward brand with high quality and high performance products for the body," said Chitra. "This is such an exciting time for the category, as it is being embraced by the consumer in a whole new way, partly because of Randi’s pathbreaking work. It is my privilege to join Nécessaire at this juncture to drive the next phase of growth.”

Elsewhere, Wella Company has announced the resignation of Annie Young-Scrivner as CEO and board director (reportedly due to "family matters"), succeeded by current board chair Glenn K. Murphy, who will oversee the company as executive chair.

“This is a pivotal time in Wella Company’s evolution, and I am excited to oversee the work of the team as we elevate the business to new levels of performance and success,” said Murphy.

He added, “In Annie’s four years as Wella Company’s CEO, she helped establish a solid foundation for future growth. We thank her for her many contributions and wish her all the best.”

Finally, Kenvue has appointed Penelope Giraud (formerly of L’Oreal) president of skin health and beauty, Asia Pacific and Latin America. In her role, Giraud will lead the strategic direction of portfolio of brands such as Neutrogena, Aveeno and Dr. Ci Labo.
