Sephora Stands has announced the fifth cohort of its Sephora Accelerate program.

Sephora has announced the 2020 cohort for its Accelerate program, a month-long program dedicated to building a community of female founders in the beauty industry.

Beginning with a weeklong boot camp—wherein participants acquire the skills to create a successful business—the program includes mentorships from Sephora and industry leaders; grants and funding, including two all-expense-paid trips to San Francisco for program events and a monetary grant; and Demo Day, where participants present their company to industry experts, potential venture partners and members of Sephora’s senior leadership.

The 2020 Accelerate Cohort:

  • Keira Rumble, Habitual Beauty (Australia)
  • Kailey Bradt, OWA Haircare (United States)
  • Helena Mendes, Mawena (France)
  • Dawn Myers, The Most (United States)
  • Angela Caglia, Angela Caglia (United States)
  • Jasmine Kang, Skinlycious (Singapore)
  • Kymberlee Hill, Curl IQ (United States)
  • Ada Juristovski, Nala Care (Canada)
  • Fernanda Kawazoe, Sobrebarba (Brazil)
  • Zaffrin O'Sullivan, Five Dot Botanics (United Kingdom)
  • Aileen Wei, Zero Waste Beauty (China)
  • Jennifer Baum, Gitti (Germany)
  • Renate Lozano, Own Authentic Cosmetics (Mexico)

“Even in the beauty industry, where most customers are women, female founders are still underrepresented,” Corrie Conrad, vice president of Sephora Stands, said. “We see a unique opportunity to draw from our history of working with entrepreneurs to build a supportive community for early-stage female founders.”

“One of the biggest challenges as a woman entrepreneur is accessing the networks that help male founders succeed,” Kristen Miller of Mented Cosmetics said. “We’ve worked hard to fill that gap by surrounding ourselves with thoughtful and ambitious female entrepreneurs and I’m excited to continue doing so with Sephora Accelerate.”
