Sun Chemical to Offer Expertise at Upcoming Conferences

Two Sun Chemical experts will offer insights on the latest trends in pigments during the Pigment and Color Science Forum and the PNWSCT Northwest Coatings Fest.

Jonathan Doll, PhD, will present Soft Focus, Optical Blur, and the Pigments that Cause Them at the Pigment and Color Science Forum. Doll, Sun Chemical’s leader of effect pigments, will discuss the ways soft-focus—an effect that has been used to great length in photography—can be used in cosmetics to obscure blemishes and wrinkles while maintaining a natural look. He will discuss methods to measure soft focus, and introduce a new soft-focus pigment system for use in multiple applications.

Soft Focus, Optical Blur, and the Pigments that Cause Them will be presented Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm. The Pigment and Color Science Forum will be held in Boston Oct. 3-5, 2018.

Nilanjan Chakrabarti, PhD, technical manager, coatings and applications will present Future of Paints: Innovations in High Performance Pigments and Manufacturing at the PNWSCT 2018 Northwest Coatings Fest. He will focus on some of the company’s latest high-performance pigments, including Sunbrite Yellow 74, Palomar Blue 15 and Quindo Red 122.

Future of Paints: Innovations in High Performance Pigments and Manufacturing will be presented Oct. 11, 2018 at 8:50 am. The PNWSCT 2018 Northwest Coatings Fest will be held in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada from Oct. 10-12, 2018.
