Ulta Beauty has rapidly expanded its retail footprint over the last year, including a New York flagship. Now, it has partnered with disruptive hair color brand Madison Reed to offer its Radiant Hair Color Kits in store and online.

In addition, consumers can leverage Madi, Madison Reed's AI hair color consultant, by texting "Hello" to 34757, prompting them to upload a selfie of their face and hair. Madi can then ask a series of questions, leading to a hair color recommendation.

"We are proud to partner with Ulta Beauty to give customers access to our prestige hair color products and introduce them to Madi, which is convenient, seamless and fun.”

“For traditional hair color companies, technology is an add-on at the very end," said Amy Errett, CEO and co-founder of Madison Reed. "For us, it’s a starting place for everything around an enhanced customer experience. We are proud to partner with Ulta Beauty to give customers access to our prestige hair color products and introduce them to Madi, which is convenient, seamless and fun.”

The formulas of the Radiant Hair Color Kits comprise ingredients such as argan oil, keratin, and ginseng root extract. The kits include a barrier cream, two sets of gloves, cleansing wipes, customized instructions, a protective cap, shampoo and conditioner, and an applicator that prevents mess.

Ulta Beauty stores will also carry six shades of Madison Reed Root Touch Up, while select stores will carry its Root Reboot in six shades.
