The dermocosmetics movement is taking aim at the sensitive skin concerns of Gen Z and Gen Alpha via Cetaphil's new line of cleansers and moisturizers for the face and body and a new partnership with beauty influencer Katie Fang.

The range offers daily exfoliation that is reportedly gentle enough for sensitive skin and comes amid a time of intensified collaboration between Cetaphil owner Galderma and L'Oreal, both of which are seeking to propel beauty to new heights of proven efficacy.

Cetaphil's New Gentle Exfoliating Line

The new line, retailing at Amazon and other U.S. retailers, was developed with dermatologists (as always) and features hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, paraben-free and non-comedogenic formulations offering softer and smoother skin after a single use, including:

  • Gentle Exfoliating SA Cleanser (starting at $9.99), which promotes surface skin cell renewal.
  • Gentle Exfoliating SA Face Lotion (starting at $10.99), which exfoliates and hydrates.
  • Gentle Exfoliating SA Body Lotion (starting at $15.99), which gently exfoliates and hydrates for softer and smoother skin after one use.
  • Exfoliating Rough & Bumpy Cream (starting at $14.99), which features 20% urea to dissolve built up keratin and clear away dead skin cells to smooth out rough and bumpy skin and reduce the appearance of redness or discoloration.

Beyond the urea in the cream, key ingredients in the exfoliating range include salicylic acid, mandelic acid and gluconolactone to deliver daily, non-irritating chemical exfoliation.

"For patients with dull skin or hyperpigmentation, I often recommend chemical exfoliation to help accelerate skin cell turnover," says board-certified dermatologist Katie Beleznay, MD. "However, those with sensitive skin need to be cautious when using exfoliants because they can be too harsh and may damage the skin barrier. I have been impressed with the new Cetaphil Gentle Exfoliating line because it is formulated with a balance of gentle exfoliating acids and skin-soothing ingredients that work together to deliver the benefits of daily exfoliation with little to no irritation."

Cetaphil x Katie Fang

By tapping Katie Fang for the exfoliating range launch, Cetaphil is making an overt play for Gen Alpha and Gen Z shoppers; Fang is undoubtedly a favorite influencer for both demographics.

Fang, who has sensitive skin, stars in the brand's campaign.

"I'm so excited to finally make it official with Cetaphil as the face of their new line!" says the influencer. "My sensitive skin journey started a few years ago, so I'm super picky about what I use. I've been testing the Cetaphil Gentle Exfoliating line for months now and I am loving it. It's so gentle that I can exfoliate every day without worrying about irritation. My skin has never felt softer and more glowy."
