BASF Aktiengesellschaft has made an all-cash proposal to acquire all outstanding shares of common stock of Engelhard Corporation for US$37.00 per share or an aggregate of US$4.9 billion. Engelhard suipplies pearlescent pigments and other effect pigments for the cosmetics industry.

The partnership created forests that will remove over 60,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide each year, exceeding its reforestation goals of 28,000 lbs.
